Well, there it was …out in the open …. shocking and too incredible to fully grok. Of course Crow was the first to speak. “I have seen the seasons come and go many times and I have seen the dangers and the consequences of a lapse in vigilance.”
“I have too, but something has shifted and continues to shift,” Worm said thoughtfully, almost to himself.
Vole, who usually kept her opinions to herself, spoke up and said sarcastically, “I suppose we will see a lion and lamb lying down together.”
Robin laughed nerviously, “Nope, it won’t work. There would be an explosion of every species and not enough to go around. There would be starvation all over the earth.”
“I know it all sounds too crazy,” said worm, “but I saw it clear as day down in that dark tunnel. And how do you explain this energy shift in me that is causing this glow?”
“Well, I just don’t see it!” snapped Crow. “I, for one, am not going to let my guard down. Your asking us to believe that there will be no more eating of flesh. I just don’t buy it!”
