"A vole has stored a large cache of seeds right down that hole." "But," he continued, "They are too deep for you to get to them with your beak. I will have to go down and push them up one at a time."
"Not so fast, worm! How do I know you will return?"
"If you want the seeds, you will just have to trust me."
"I have a better idea. I will hold on to your tail and you stretch out and pull back a seed."
"Too deep," replied worm. "You are just going to have to trust me."
Worm had every intention of returning some seeds Once in the hole he knew his escape was assured.
Finally, robin agreed. She could taste that rich, nutty flavor. "OK, worm, but don't try anything funny or I will hunt you every day. And, we both know you can't get very far from this place very fast."
