Worm had disappeared down the vole hole sometime during the laugh fest.  Robin and crow were still laughing hard when crow noticed that worm was gone.  "Hey robin, look!  You have lost worm for sure now."

Robin's laughter stopped like a train when someone pulls the emergency cord.  "He'll be back with another seed.  We had a deal."

"Wake up and smell the roses, red-breast; there's no way that worm will be back to the surface anytime soon!"

"Crow, you are such a cynic.  Worm and I have a," she hesitated trying to find just the right word, "... relationship.  I trust that worm!"

Crow chuckled, "suit yourself, but I wouldn't be waiting too long.  It's already late in the day and the sun will be setting soon.  I finished my rounds, so I can keep you company for a little while."   Robin and crow stood in silence until crow asked, "So where is your better half?"
"He is working on our nest.  We're expecting, you know."

"Wow, congratulations!"  Crow was totally sincere.  He and his partner had been trying for the past six months with no results."
